Background
The Heritage Fleet needs a home…
The heritage fleet has proudly called Docklands home for over 15 years, and now we face a critical moment. The Victorian government plans to hand over our current site to developers on January 1, 2026, leaving the fleet without a suitable home. This places the vessels, the heritage equipment, the volunteers, the community at risk.
We must act now to advocate for the preservation of this vital piece of our maritime. Let’s unite and ensure the heritage fleet remains a cherished part of Docklands for generations to come!

Future options
There are a number of future options for the Heritage Fleet, they are:
DOCKLANDS - There are a number of areas within Docklands that could house the heritage fleet temporarily until a suitable future home becomes available. This includes the area of the former Central Pier and the area adjacent to the Ron Barassi Oval adjacent to the Bolte Bridge.
WILLIAMSTOWN - The Seaworks area at Williamstown is currently under construction and the pier will not be ready for ships until mid-late 2026. In addition the sheds require significant works to get them to a safe and habitable state.
